Membership Spotlight: Dynabyte

In the month of September, we had the pleasure of meeting with SACC Florida Corporate Member, Dynabyte and caught up with the CEO and Founder, Anders Lentell. Anders is originally from Stockholm, Sweden and has worked in technology and software development throughout his career. Before the launch of Dynabyte in 2001, he worked as an engineer within hardware and electronics, but he had always passion for software development. In the 90s, he worked as a consultant for a company that after going public, shifted focus to profit margins and delivering value to shareholders which he felt limited creativity. He believes the best companies are built by focusing on people and by giving them room to be creative and grow. So, he decided to leave and started his own company. When Anders was asked about the most rewarding part of his role the answer was “It’s all about seeing people grow. When we create an environment where individuals can take responsibility and step into new roles, both the company and the people within it thrive.”

Dynabyte has helped companies with their digital development since the start. They mainly focus on complex software solutions for large clients as Spotify, King, IKEA, Volvo, Central Bank of Sweden and KLARNA to name a few. Their expertise in building agile and robust systems has made them a sought-after partner for both startups and established companies. Since 2020 they are also a part of QGroup, a group of approximately 1100 people and 40 companies. The ability to tap into a network of specialized companies within the group allows Dynabyte to offer tailored solutions for various projects. As a digital partner, Dynabyte brings technical expertise in various ways. Regardless of whether it is about project management, strategy, code or development, you can hire their consultants individually or as a team based on needs and projects over time. The move to merge part of Dynabyte with QGroup in 2020 was driven by a strategic desire to partner with a like-minded tech-focused group while preserving the company’s core values and culture.

Anders’ connection to Florida began through one of his consultants, a Florida native, who moved to Sweden to work but decided to return to Florida last year. This prompted a business trip for Anders to explore opportunities in the region, which is also where he got in contact with SACC Florida for the first time. He visited various locations, including Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, and eventually fell in love with St. Petersburg. Operations started there in September, and they currently consist of three people, but already have plans to expand further before the end of the year. While the move to Florida was partly personal, driven by a desire to escape the harsh Swedish winters, it was also a strategic business decision. Florida’s tech ecosystem is rapidly growing, with the Tampa Bay area ranked as one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the U.S., Anders believes this region offers an ideal environment for expanding Dynabyte’s footprint in the U.S.

Dynabyte is still in the early stages of its journey in Florida but is keen to engage with the local business community and with SACC Florida.  Read more about them here!
