In May, we had the pleasure of speaking with Ebba Blitz, SACC Florida Board Member focusing on Events and CEO and co-founder of Ensure Endpoint, a cybersecurity company that helps businesses protect sensitive data stored on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. Prior to entering the tech industry, Ebba was a well-known television personality in Sweden. She is best recognized for hosting Draknästet, the Swedish version of Shark Tank, where she showcased innovation and entrepreneurship. At the same time, Ebba served on the board of her husband Fredrik Lövstedt’s IT security firm, AlertSec, which sparked her growing interest in cybersecurity. Today, she leads an international team across the United States and Europe, helping businesses, particularly those in regulated industries, reduce cybersecurity risks. At the core of her journey is a simple but powerful principle: to fully embrace each chapter and opportunity in life.
Ebba’s interest in entrepreneurship grew during her time as host of Draknästet. On the television show, she spent years engaging with entrepreneurs and exploring innovative business ideas. Sitting across from ambitious founders who pitched their ventures not only sparked her admiration but also awakened a strong desire to one day start and lead a company of her own. When Ebba later stepped away from television to focus on raising her daughters, Vera and Betty, the question of what might come next naturally arose. With her characteristic drive and dedication, she began exploring new directions. Never content to approach anything with half effort, Ebba brings the same energy and wholehearted commitment to everything she takes on, whether in family life, media, or business.
It was during a family trip to the United States in 2014 that Ebba and her husband Fredrik’s entrepreneurial ideas began to take more concrete shape. Ebba’s experience from Draknästet, combined with Fredrik’s technical expertise from leading the cybersecurity company Pointsec, made them realize that the United States offered significant opportunities to build a company at the intersection of media, technology, and cybersecurity. Shortly after the trip, Ebba and Fredrik made the bold decision to relocate with their family to pursue their vision of becoming tech entrepreneurs. The family initially settled in California before eventually moving to Florida.
Ebba explains that founding and running a company in the tech industry, without a technical background, was initially daunting and filled with uncertainty. However, by approaching challenges with curiosity, commitment, and a strong willingness to learn, Ebba and her husband successfully established Ensure Endpoint in the United States. Ebba believes that her success in the tech field, despite not being the most technically experienced person at the start, stems from her strong communication skills and her ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear and accessible way.
Ebba and Fredrik founded Ensure Endpoint in 2019 in California. Since then, the company has expanded and now also operates with dedicated teams in Uppsala and London. Ensure Endpoint specializes in protecting “data at rest” on endpoint devices such as laptops, desktops, and mobile phones, where sensitive information is often most at risk. Its patented technology focuses on how data is stored rather than examining the content itself, making the solution both highly effective and privacy-focused. The platform offers tools that raise awareness, guide users toward compliance, and help businesses reduce cybersecurity risks, particularly in regulated industries such as insurance.
The idea for Ensure Endpoint originated from a real-world challenge that Ebba encountered while working with a large insurance company in the United States. Although the company had contractual requirements for its brokers to uphold cybersecurity standards, many of them fell short. These independent brokers, often under-resourced and technically not employed by the company, still represented a serious vulnerability. The risk was significant: nearly 90 percent of small businesses that suffer a data breach go out of business or file for bankruptcy within six months. Ebba saw a critical gap and recognized the need for a solution that would be both practical and scalable.
What sets Ensure Endpoint apart is its ability to monitor the health and security of stored data without accessing the data itself. This privacy-first design helps organizations strengthen their cybersecurity posture while maintaining clear boundaries. Combined with user-friendly education tools and smart, informative alerts, the platform empowers both companies and individuals to take greater responsibility for data security. It is this balance of technical sophistication and simplicity that gives Ensure Endpoint its unique position in the market.
Living and working in the United States has given Ebba valuable insights, both professionally and culturally. One of the most significant differences she has observed between the United States and Sweden is the mindset toward mistakes and opportunity. “In Sweden, we are often afraid of making mistakes. In the United States, people are more afraid of missing out on opportunities.” This cultural contrast strongly resonates with Ebba, as she values action, innovation, and forward momentum. She feels that the entrepreneurial climate in the United States allows her ideas and ambitions to fully thrive.
Ebba’s involvement with SACC Florida began through SACC-Florida President Viktoria Riley, whose leadership and strong sense of community made a lasting impression. For Ebba, SACC has become a meaningful platform for connection, where she enjoys engaging with fellow professionals and contributing to the growth of the network. Today, she continues to lead and innovate in the tech industry while remaining an active member of the Swedish American business community. Her journey serves as a powerful reminder of the value of adaptability, curiosity, and the courage to embrace change and reinvent oneself.
